Balochistan Conundrum: FC chief sees reduction in militancy
IGFC hopes situation would improve in Balochistan once the general elections 2013 are completed.
QUETTA:
Inspector General of Frontier Corps (IGFC) Major General Obaidullah Khan Khatak has said that concrete measures put in place by the government and law enforcement agencies have resulted in a reduction of militant vilence in Balochistan.
“The recent indicators have shown tangible decline in the subversive activities across the province,” said Maj Gen Khattak told journalists at the FC headquarters on Friday.
Commending the formation of caretaker set-up after the dissolution of provincial assembly, he hoped that situation would improve in Balochistan once the general elections 2013 are completed and next democratically elected government assumes office.
“Parliament had played positive role, legislating important laws to curb crime, however, amendment in the evidence law is necessary as outlaws and elements opposed to peace are freed due to the flaws in the evidence law,” he noted.
