Tennis: Juniors continue excellent run

Pakistan beat second-seeds Singapore 2-1 at the World Juniors Tennis (WJT) pre-qualifying round for Asia-Oceania Zone in Kuching, Malaysia yesterday.



The team remained unbeaten during their maiden appearance in the tournament after recording wins over Turkmenistan 3-0, Sri Lanka 3-0, and Syria 2-1 to reach the final of the group stage.

The team will now take on top-seeds Vietnam for a place in the WJT finals that takes place in August. In the first tie against Singapore, Muzammil Murtaza beat Timothy Sing Tech Kuah. Asian under-14 number one Nofil Kaleem outplayed Tze Ming Law before Singapore hit back in the doubles rubber as their players Law and Enzo Chua defeated Muzammil and Abdaal Haider.
