Trade with Korea: Pak-Korea council holds first meeting

Lee said it is encouraging for him to witness the presence of major Korean corporations in Pakistan.

Chairman Pak-Korea Business Council of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPPCI) Sohail Nisar convened the body’s first meeting for 2013 in Karachi, which was attended by the Consul General of the Republic of Korea Chan Hee Lee. Nisar in his welcome address emphasised the need for more interaction between the business communities of the two countries. Members of the council informed the consul general about the difficulties being faced by them in the process of obtaining visas to Korea. Lee thanked the FPCCI for inviting him, and said Pakistan and South Korea have a lot in common. He said it was encouraging for him to witness the presence of major Korean corporations in Pakistan. Lee said the problems faced by Pakistani businessmen are regrettable and he would take up the matter with authorities in Korea for rectification.
