Tennis: Punju, Wali reach semi-finals
The final will be played on March 22.
KARACHI:
Aly Punju and Sabih Wali cruised into the semi-finals of the HabibMetro Seniors Tennis Championship 40 plus singles event.
Punju defeated Khwaja Masroor 6-1, 6-1 while Wali outplayed Afaq Zafar 6-1, 6-1. Meanwhile, Iltifat Ahmed downed Zakaria Ali Muhammad 6-3, 6-2 in the men’s 60 plus event and Akram Fahim overcame Mushtaq Ahmed 6-4, 1-6, 6-3.
In other matches, Mohammat Iltifat and Javed Iqbal defeated Noorullah Dhanani and Qamer Habib 6-1, 6-4 in the 40 plus doubles match. The tournament is featuring eight clubs and 48 players form the corporate sector. The final will be played on March 22.
