Fun Fair: Health secretary inaugurates book exhibition
Students had set up stalls highlighting traditional rural culture of the Punjab.

A fun fair and a book exhibition was arranged at Amiruddin Medical College and Post Graduate Medical Institute on Tuesday. They were inaugurated by Health Secretary Arif Nadeem. Students had set up stalls highlighting traditional rural culture of the Punjab. Food stalls were also set up. Books related to medical research and international medical journals largely populated the stalls of the book exhibition. Nadeem visited several stalls.
He said students should be happy that the city has a new medical college. He added that such events held in educational institutions promote extracurricular activities, provide healthy recreational opportunities for the youth and help them in better understanding their culture. The secretary said that with the rise of computers the culture of reading books had been on the decline but it was important to promote reading as a habit. He added that despite modern scientific progress, the importance of knowledge gained from book was well established.
