Living Conditions: 7 children die of mystery disease
District health officer said children in the area were being vaccinated for measles and various other diseases.

Seven children have died in the last week of an undiagnosed disease in Moro village near River Sutlej. Mona Mor and Muhammad Abid, residents of the area, said first signs of the disease appeared on February 25 when the infected children began vomiting and running high fever. They said they were poor and could not afford proper medical treatment. Muhammad Saeed, 2, Muhammad Asif, 4, Rashid, 4, Shakir, 10, Sumaira, 5, and Uzma Mai, 18, have died of the disease during the week. The district health officer said the children had been living in unhygienic conditions. He said a medical camp had been established in the area.
