KARACHI:
The Sindh local government department has clarified that the Local Government System of 1979 has completely been restored.
According to a statement by the department on Monday, all town municipal administrations have been abolished and district municipal corporations, municipal corporations, municipal committees, district councils, town committees and union councils have been restored with effect from February 27.
It further said that all the relevant officers of the TMAs have been relieved to report to Sindh Local Government Board for further postings.
