Raveena disapproves of skinny girls
The actor promotes clothes designed for woman of any size.
Bollywood actor Raveena Tandon is not happy with stick-thin girls in the glamour industry. She feels that skinny girls have made life tough for women like her. However, she is happy with her curvy self.
“I have always believed in a woman’s elegance, grace and femininity,” said Raveena. “Today, most of the girls are stick-thin and that is a tragedy. They have made life tough for women like me,” the 38-year-old said in Mumbai on Friday.
“When girls dance today, they look like two dandiya (sticks) are dancing,” said Raveena “It’s funny because I am happy with my size. I am a normal size — an average person.” The actor, producer and former model Raveena made her debut with Patthar Ke Phool in 1991 and won a Filmfare Lux New Face Award for her performance in it.
While unveiling designer Sonakshi Raja’s clothes, to be showcased at the upcoming Lakme Fashion Week 2013, Raveena said, “Sonakshi designs for women of all sizes.”
Lakme Fashion Week will be held March 21 to 26 in Mumbai, but since Raveena will be on vacation with her family, she won’t be there to support her favourite designer.
“I am here today because unfortunately I will not be here during Lakme Fashion Week. She [Sonakshi Raja] is like my little sister and I always encourage her because she is very talented,” said Raveena. “I am leaving for a vacation with my kids right now. But I will always be there for her.”
On the film front, Raveena will soon be seen in Shobhana’s Seven Nights. It is an unusual love story, in which Raveena plays a role of a successful writer in her early ‘40s who meets a young aspiring film actor.
