Colony Sugar successfully defended their title at the National Polo Championship 2013 for the Quaid-i-Azam Gold Cup as they defeated Diamond Paints 11-7 in the final at the Lahore Polo Club yesterday.
Hamza Mawaz Khan, who scored seven of the 11 goals by his team, was the star for the Colony Sugar side. Meanwhile, Raja Samiullah scored four goals for Diamond Paints and England’s James Harper scored three.
In the other match, Army/Coca Cola defeated Guard Group 7-6 for third place. Argentina’s Manuel Crespo scored three goals for Army/Coca Cola while local players Raja Temur Nadeem and Isfandiyar Pataudi scored two goals apiece.
