The Afghan national cricket team returned home yesterday after beating Scotland in all Twenty20 and limited-over matches as well as the four-day Test match in the United Arab Emirates last week, according to TOLOnews.

All-rounder Mirwais Ashraf was upbeat and expressed pride in the team’s collective performance. “We are very close to the 2015 World Cup and the team has done a great job in the recent matches,” said Ashraf. Meanwhile, Afghanistan Cricket Board Chairman Shahzada Massoud said the team still has some work to do before the mega event.”

If the team can beat Ireland and Namibia in the upcoming matches, then our cricket team will head to the 2015 World Cup,” said Massoud.
