FAISALABAD: The police claimed on Sunday to have beefed up security at nine shrines to avert any untoward incidents in the Faisalabad division. Inspector Aamir Waheed, a police spokesman, said on Sunday that out of 45 shrines in the division, 31 were being run under the aegis of the Auqaf Department. He said the intelligence agencies had declared 9 shrines ‘most sensitive’ and had feared incidents of terrorism there. Waheed said 34 shrines fell in category-C and two in category-B. He said shrines that fell in category-A (most sensitive) include Darbar Baba Lasoori Shah, Qaim Sain, Noor Shah Wali, Maulana Sardar Ahmad Qadri, Sufi Barkat Ali Dalowal, Jamia Chishtia, Sultan Bahu, Pir Mehboob Shah Chiniot and Shah Jewna Jhang.
