ECP to allot election symbols on March 19
Any party not attending the meeting will be allotted a symbol as per the preference indicated in their application.
ISLAMABAD:
The Election Commission said on Saturday that it will be allotting election symbols to political parties on March 19, 2013.
A press release issued by the commission said that all political parties are requested to send their representative to the meeting at the ECP secretariat in Islamabad.
The ECP said that any party which does not send its representative would then be allotted a symbol in light of the preferences indicated by the party in its application.
The election authorities have asked political parties to file fresh applications for election symbols that will be used to contest the forthcoming polls.
In a press statement, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) directed all those parties that fulfill the provisions of the Political Parties Order, 2002 to submit their requests by March 15.
