KARACHI: Police claimed to have arrested the prime suspect in last month's Abbas Town blast, along with his two accomplices from Karachi on Thursday, Express News reported.

It was revealed that they were associated with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

The suspect was identified as Alam Sher Mehsood and his two accomplices were identified as Mansoor and Inam Ullah Mehsood.

Karachi police carried out a raid operation in Orangi Town, where Mansoor and Inam were arrested. They allegedly admitted to charges of being involved in the Abbas Town blast and other terrorist acts in the city.

According to the police, on the basis of details provided by the two criminals, police carried out an operation in Khuda Ki Basti near Surjani Town. The prime suspect opened fire at the police and was caught after return of fire by the police.

A press conference will be held at 8:30pm, which will reveal detailed information about the individuals arrested.

@iftikhar...Yes the confidence is low...but continuation of these operations and decline in terrorist acts and street crime can instill confidence quickly. So lets hope these operations continue till law and order and situation comes under control. In the second phase DE-weaponisation should take place and in the third phase permanent checkpoints should be made on entry and exit points to stop the medieval beasts from coming to the most liberal city in the country,
