QUETTA:

Nawabzada Tariq Magsi is likely to remain the Leader of Opposition in the Balochistan Assembly and the chief minister will consult him for the caretaker set-up once the governor’s rule is lifted from the province.

The acting Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court (BHC) Justice Jamal Mandokhel and Justice Naeem Afghan have revoked the decision of Speaker Balochistan Assembly Syed Matiullah Agha, in which he had cancelled the notification of Magsi as opposition leader.

Former speaker of Balochistan Assembly Aslam Bhootani, before his ouster through a no-confidence motion, had issued the notification of Magsi as Leader of the Opposition.

Magsi being the opposition leader in Balochistan Assembly would be consulted by the chief minister for selection of a caretaker chief minister soon after governor’s rule is lifted.

Talking to the media, Bhootani said he was happy over the restoration of Tariq Magsi as opposition leader by Balochistan High Court.

He said that he had issued notification keeping in view all constitutional legal requirements.
