Last rites: Deceased cop laid to rest
Constable Gulzar Hussain died in an attack on a police van in North Nazimabad on Tuesday.

The funeral prayers of Constable Gulzar Hussain, who died in an attack on a police van in North Nazimabad on Tuesday, were offered at Garden Police Headquarters on Wednesday.
Acting Sindh IGP Ghulam Shabbir Shaikh and other senior police officials, Hussain’s relatives, friends and neighbours also attended the prayers.
According to a Sindh police report, up to 156 policemen have lost their lives since January, 2012. These included an SP, a DSP, 14 sub-inspectors, 21 assistant sub-inspectors, 24 head constables and 91 police constables.
Moreover, 197policemen have sustained injuries in attacks.
The report further pointed out that 37 policemen were killed during the same period in Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur and Larkana.
