I don't think these are correct figures. South Asia terrorism portal (www.satp.orglink text) keeps count of fatalities in all south asian countries and updates them regularly. According to this site, from 2008 to 2012 total 38368 people have died. This includes 12020 civilians, 3611 security force personnel and 22737 terrorists or Insurgents. I am really surprised that no one in pakistan except @Tahir Zain commenting here is questioning these figures.

Only 24 attacks in KP in 5 years?? and only 128 people killed in Sindh again in 5 years... Around 50 people were killed in abbas town only last week.. Is it just me or is there something seriously wrong with these figures?
It doesn’t come as a surprise that thousands of people have fallen victims to the acts of terror inside Pakistan. The terrorists have been fully focused on destabilizing the region with their acts of terror. Pakistan in particular has faced the wrath of terrorism. Terrorist organizations like the TTP and LeJ have continued to target the innocent in their bid to gain control. Unfortunately, we come across too many conspiracy theories that offer these terrorist organizations the leeway to further their criminal objectives. The bottom line is that we are not helping ourselves by letting these obvious culprits off the hook.
We cannot over emphasize the importance of working together negate the threat posed by these terrorists. We are fighting the same terrorists, and it is in our best interest to have a safe and secure Pakistan. We restate what Richard G. Olson, U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan, said recently: “The United States recognizes the enormous sacrifices made by the people of Pakistan, especially your security forces. We will continue in our joint efforts to counter extremism, combat terrorism, and protect both our peoples from the scourge of senseless violence.”

@Waseem Sarwar: Yeah i feel i was a little unfair while handing out these marks to them.....
@Beeruh: Punjab 4/10? Punjab is a huge province and it exists out of Lahore too. Building a Metro track and distrubting laptops while 34% of kids are not feed properly, crime rate at its max, isn't good goverence my dear. Let them stand with PPP as they hardly did any better.
Lets just SUMMARISE all the 4 provincial governments and federation performances in these last 5 years:
Punjab: 4/10 (Just not good enough) KPK: 2/10 (Poor Governance) Sindh: 1/10 (Worst Governance) Balochistan: 0/10 (No Governance at all)
Federation: 1/10 With few achievements this government otherwise only delievered Corruption, Loadshedding, Price Hikes, Loss of lives, thanks to this govt no international cricket in Pakistan, Taxes on almost everything, Wasting taxpayers money, instead of resolving the crisis always chanted democracy, poor handling of financial and economic affairs and blaming other insitutions for their failures,OBL operation, drone attacks,Raymond Davis issue and well the list goes on
