Electricity defaulters: NA tells WAPDA to ignore small defaulters
Committee lauded the government for fixing flat electricity rates for agricultural tube-wells.

The National Assembly’s (NA) Standing Committee on Water and Power directed the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) and distribution companies not to upset small electricity bill defaulters through the National Accountability Bureau and instead tighten the noose around major defaulters.
The committee held its meeting chaired by MNA Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, during which it was briefed on the Water Resources Development Programme Vision 2025 (Fast Track) .
The committee also lauded the government for giving subsidy to poor farmers by fixing flat electricity rates for agricultural tube-wells.
The committee was briefed that 3,400 megawatts of electricity had been added to the national grid during the last five years of the present government, along with rehabilitation of different generation companies, including the Guddu Thermal and Jamshoro Power Stations.
