Disqualification: Khichi’s PA membership suspended
Petitioner’s lawyer said MPA had defaulted on a Rs12 million loan from a private bank.

The Lahore High Court on Monday suspended the Provincial Assembly membership of Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan Khichi, a returned candidate from PP- 239, Vehari, in the recently held by-polls.
Justice Ayesha A Malik issued the order on a petition moved by losing candidate Imran Khan Khichi, also a cousin of the respondent MPA.
On Monday, petitioner’s lawyer Muhammad Ahsan Bhoon said the MPA, who contested the February 18 by-polls as an independent candidate, had defaulted on a Rs12 million loan from a private bank and had not disclosed that fact to the returning officer at the time of filing nomination papers.
