Procrastination: Prosecution dept slow to scrutiny late challans
More than 5,000 challans and 1,000 reports of cancellation of FIRs found lying unprocessed in mid-February.

The public prosecution department has yet to scrutinise more than 5,000 challans and 1,000 reports of cancellation of FIRs found lying unprocessed in mid-February, The Express Tribune has learnt.
District Public Prosecutor Azhar Hussain Malik had said 3,000 challans and 1,000 reports of cancellation of FIRs had been recovered that should have been submitted before the court in December 2012.
A source in the department said there were actually more than 5,000 challans.
Malik said he would send a report on the matter to the secretary towards the end of the week.
