Government to bear costs for reconstructing Abbas Town flats: Ebad
Directives issued for initiating reconstruction efforts. Rebuilding to cost Rs150 million, 6 months.

The buildings that were damaged in the twin-blasts in Abbas Town would be reconstructed, Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad said on Saturday.
Ebad said that the reconstruction of the flats would cost about Rs150 million and take six months to complete.
Issuing directives for initiating reconstruction of the damaged buildings at the earliest, Ebad said that the cost of reconstruction would be borne by the government of Sindh.
The governor pointed out that funds would be made available in the special accounts for the Commissioner in a few days' time. He said that for the construction of flats at the earliest is essential and that reputed bodies of architects will be contacted in order to save time.
Additionally, an eight-member committee has been formed under the Commissioner of Karachi to oversee the reconstruction process. Representatives of the affectees and welfare bodies have also been included in this committee.
