Post-2014: FC seeks more troops on Afghan border

Currently 65 platoons, 50,000 personnel, were deployed in the region.

The Frontier Corps (FC) has demanded that an additional 15,000 personnel should be deployed on the Pak-Afghan border over the next two years.


According to senior officials, the responsibility of securing the region lies with the FC personnel and they feel that an additional 16 platoons will be needed post-2014 to completely secure the border. They informed that currently 65 platoons, 50,000 personnel, were deployed in the region.
