ISLAMABAD:

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Thursday opened tendering worth Rs 14.645 million Park Enclave project. The work includes construction of gate house, security pickets and ornamental gates of the housing scheme the authority announced in July 2011.

Already, 75 percent of construction work on 5.2-kilometre long boundary wall has been completed. The contract price of boundary wall construction project was Rs48 million and it was supposed to be completed by the end of December 2012. However, resistance from locals in project execution and possession problems delayed the project.

Meanwhile, the Engineering Wing of the authority has initiated ground levelling work within the premises of Park Enclave to carve out internal road network of the housing colony.

So far only four per cent of the aforementioned has been completed.

On Thursday, during his maiden visit to the site of Park Enclave, Chairman CDA Syed Tahir Shahbaz, resolved that project would be completed by December 2013. Accompanied with CDA Member Engineering Sanaullah Aman, Shahbaz directed for early completion of ground work to restore the trust of those who have been allotted plots in the housing scheme.

The other day, Shahbaz informed a parliamentary committee that CDA was waiving an option to present some plots of Park Enclave in upcoming auction of residential and commercial. “Before presenting Park Enclave’s plots, we will take into consideration the current situation of real estate market. And if we find the option viable we will go for it,” Shahbaz has said.

During Thursday’s visit, CDA Member Engineering Sanaullah Aman informed the CDA chairman that Park Enclave had been demarcated. Chairman of the civic agency assured that authority had sufficient funds to carry out the necessary ground work and to construct access and internal road network of the project.
