KARACHI:
The anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Thursday charged four suspects involved in the Shahzeb Khan murder case, Express News reported.

The four suspects – Shahrukh Jatoi, his friends Nawaz Siraj Talpur and Nawab Sajjad Talpur, and their servant Ghulam Murtaza Lashari – were charged with murder.

Shahrukh was additionally charged for possessing the murder weapon.

According to a Geo News report, Director FIA Mohammed Malik revealed during today’s hearing that Shahrukh had escaped with the help of officers from the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) who had earlier been managing protocol for Bilawal House guests.

He further said Shahrukh had also been a guest at the Bilawal House and that one of the officers Waseh Akhter had secured bail before arrest on February 28.

During the proceedings, the suspects denied committing the crime. The court, in response to the suspects’ claim, summoned witnesses on March 8.

The suspects are facing charges of murdering 20-year-old Shahzeb Khan, son of a police officer, over a petty dispute in the upscale Defence area on December 25, 2012.
