Female MPAs get into fist fight

The quarrel turned into a fist fight as the lawmakers came across each other on Friday night at an MPA hostel.

The parents of a Pakistan People's Party MPA were injured in a brawl with another female parliamentarian at MPA hostel in Peshawar late on Friday.

The female parliamentarians Noor Sehar and Shazia Tehmas came across each other and the quarrel became a fist fight as accompanying male relatives joined in, sources said.

The two parliamentarians had not been on speaking terms and their cold war became a hot one following a verbal spat. Injuries were sustained by the parents of Shazia Tehmas. They were  shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital.

Meanwhile, both the MPAs registered FIR's against each other and Noor Sehar's husband and son are both in prison being held on judicial remand.

This is the second time PPP legislators have been involved in a scuffle after MPAs Sajida Mir and Fauzia Behram attempted to physically assault each other in the committee hall of the Punjab Assembly in June.

Sameera | 13 years ago | Reply If fist fights are a criterion for locking people up behind closed doors - in a kitchen, garage, wherever - then almost all male members of the parliament would be there first. In fact, I'm sorry, they'd probably be in jail, because they generally use weapons. Or maybe not, because they hire goons to get the job done. Shame on the sexist commenters, using women's names and taking out your insecurities. You are probably latent females in male bodies and you should be locked up in a mental institution...
