Nominations: Hundreds of applicants vie for PTI tickets
The party claims it has received over 20 applications from each constituency.
Application fee for the national and provincial assembly seats is Rs27,000 and Rs17,000 respectively. For applicants aged below 35 years, the fee is Rs7,000.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has received hundreds of applications from across Khyber –Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) in response to its call for submission of documents to contest elections for national and provincial assemblies.
From the PK-8 constituency, 54 applicants have so far applied for a party ticket, said PTI Provincial Information Secretary Aqeel Razzaq.
The district cabinets scrutinise the applications and then recommends four candidates from each constituency to the party’s Provincial Parliamentary Board. The board then forwards the names to the Central Parliamentary Board along with their recommendation.
The PTI has not yet announced the members of the provincial board, however, sources within the party said Shah Farman, Pervez Khattak and Saleem Jan Khan are expected to be part of it.
“The district cabinet members will shortlist candidates by looking into the applicants’ tax payment record, financial position, moral stature and personal influence in the area they wish to contest from,” said the newly elected general secretary for Peshawar, Younas Zaheer.
It will not be an easy task, especially when the district cabinet has received over 15-20 applications from each constituency.
“The decisions will be taken purely on merit and there are no chances of favouritism as it will be a collective decision in which party activists who lost in the intra-party elections will also be taken on board,” Zaheer stated.

As announced earlier by PTI Chairman Imran Khan, the party will allot 25% of its tickets to the youth.
The submission of nomination papers started on March 2 and will continue till March 9.
