Roadside bomb: Four security personnel injured in IED explosion
Four security personnel were severely injured and the vehicle was completely destroyed in the impact of the blast.
BANNU:
Four military personnel were injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) planted on the roadside went off in Jani Khel, Frontier Region (FR), Bannu.
Najeeb Khan, an official of the Jani Khel police said a security forces convoy was heading towards Bannu city from Jani Khel on Wednesday evening when a bomb exploded near one of the vehicles.
The official said four security personnel were severely injured and the vehicle was completely destroyed in the impact of the blast.
Following the explosion, security forces surrounded the area and launched a search operation. However, no arrests were made. The injured were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital in Bannu.
This was the second explosion near a security forces vehicle on Wednesday. At approximately 10am, another convoy was en route to Bannu Cantonment when an IED exploded near a vehicle, damaging it. No human loss was reported in the incident.
