Security Situation: Discrimination against minorities should stop

It is time for Pakistanis to stop discriminating against minorities and burning other countries’ flags, says Ahmed.

LAHORE:

Malik Nasim Ahmed, a reserve member of the Swedish Parliament and an ambassador to the International Human Rights Commission for Scandinavian Countries, said on Wednesday that he never expected he would be given so much respect in Pakistan.

Talking to The Express Tribune after a meeting with the newly elected executive of the Lahore High Court Bar Association, Ahmed said it was time for Pakistanis to stop discriminating against minorities and burning other countries’ flags.

Ahmed said he wished to come to Pakistan with his family but could not do so because of the security situation. He said Muslims should be careful not to rush into extreme steps against those accused of blasphemy.
