Regularisation: APP given one month to comply

ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad High Court on Tuesday granted one month to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) management for implementation of a Supreme Court verdict regarding backdated service benefits and seniority issues of more than a dozen journalists. Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui was hearing a writ petition moved by 15 APP reporters and sub editors invoking IHC jurisdiction for implementation of an apex court judgment authored by the chief justice of Pakistan on May 25, 2009. The SC on had disposed of a plea of APP journalists directing the management to initiate regularisation of their services, besides granting them an opportunity to approach the department to claim past benefits.
