FAISALABAD: All Pakistan Textile Sizing Associations have announced a complete strike against recently imposed taxes. The strike will go on for an indefinite period and the group has threatened that all textile units will remain closed during this time. This announcement was made by Chairman APTSA Shakeel Ansari on Tuesday. He said that the strike was in response to the Federal Board of Revenue imposing two statutory regulatory orders (SROs), SRO 154(1)/2013 and SRO 98(1)2013. He expressed his concerns over the orders, saying that they have been issued and enforced without consultation with the stakeholders. He added that various clauses of these SROs are against the interest of the business community and detrimental to economic activities in the country. “Any SRO issued or tax imposed will not be accepted by the business community if there is no prior consultation with them,” said Ansari.
