KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) deferred its verdict on Monday on an application seeking transfer of Shahzeb Khan’s murder case to a regular court.

Owing to the lawyers strike following the Abbas Town blast, all legal proceedings were boycotted, hence ATC judge Ghulam Mustafa Memon deferred the court’s verdict.

On February 28, the judge had reserved order on the suspect’s plea seeking transfer of the murder case to the sessions court.

Defence claimed that the offence alleged on the suspects does not fall under the ambit of the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997 – which carries minimum sentence of life imprisonment and maximum capital punishment in addition to leaving no opportunity for compromise.
