Bilateral trade: South Korea invited to invest in Pakistan

Doosan Corporation’s Senior VP says that that his company has the capacity to explore coal field reserves in Pakistan.

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) hosted a meeting of South Korean investors and organised business-to-business meetings with Pakistani entrepreneurs having common interest in various fields. South Korea’s Doosan Corporation’s Senior Vice President Jeong Tae Song said that his company has the capacity to explore coal field reserves in Pakistan. He said that South Korea could assist Pakistan in setting up joint ventures along with latest technology transfers, while Korean investors could earn lucrative profits in Pakistan. Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador of Pakistan to South Korea Shaukat Ali Mukadam informed the meeting that organising a follow-up visit of Pakistani businesspersons to South Korea would further strengthen and deepen economic relations between the countries. He said that Korean companies were already working in different water and power sector projects and more investors were keen to invest in the country.
