Absenteeism: Hangu education dept takes action

The education department will keep monitoring all schools in the district, says DEO.

HANGU:
The district education department has stopped paying the salaries of nine teachers after they were found absent from classes during school hours on Saturday. According to the District Education Officer (DEO), Aqal Badshah, they raided several schools between 10am and noon. During his visit to the Government High School in Togh Sarai, the headmaster, two grade four employees and six teachers were found absent from their duties. Badshah added when they went to the Government Primary School Thor Kanray, the education officers found students playing in the ground while the teachers were playing online games in the computer lab. The DEO said the education department will keep monitoring all schools in the district and any teacher or employee found slacking off will be reported.
