As many as 150 patients were operated and more than 5,000 were treated free of charge at an eye camp for flood victims organised by the Al Shifa Eye Trust in collaboration with Pakistan Army.
On the last day of the camp on Saturday, Multan Corps Commander Lieutenant General Abid Pervez, Rajanpur DCO Ghazi Amaan, and EDO health visited the camp at Jampur tehsil headquarters hospital.
Gen Pervez said the army will continue to serve the flood affected with whatever resources available to it. He lauded the efforts of the troops who had set up camps in the flood-hit areas.
He said, since 2011, in addition to arranging seven medical camps and three eye camps in Rajanpur, Pakistan Army had provided free medicines worth Rs1.5 million for the displaced.
