Pay Scales: APCA to stage protest if demands are not met

Government should raise rent allowance to 60%, increase marriage grants for All Pakistan Clerks Association employees.

FAISALABAD:

Punjab chapter of the All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) on Friday warned that they would stage a protest demonstration in Lahore if their demands were not met by March 8.

Punjab APCA deputy secretary Chaudhry Abdul Aziz said the association had asked the government to introduce new pay scales in accordance with the recommendations of the Pays and Pensions Committee.

He said the government should raise house rent allowance to 60 per cent and increase the marriage grants for All Pakistan Clerks Association employees to Rs50,000.

Aziz said if their demands were not met by March 8, they would stage a sit-in in Lahore which, he said, could continue indefinitely.
