Polio Vaccination: Mengal inaugurates three-day drive

District Coordination Officer Noorul Amin Mengal inaugurated a three-day anti polio drive by administering polio drops to some children below five years of age at the Model Town Hospital on Saturday.



Health Department, World Health Organisation, Unicef and city district government representatives were present on the occasion.

Mengal said 1.5 million children aged under five would be administered polio drops in three days. As many as 6,000 officials would participate. He said religious leaders, Pushto-speaking students and boy scouts would perform duties at railway stations, airport and bus stands. He warned all deputy district officers they would face disciplinary action including transfers in case of poor performance. He asked private schools to cooperate with polio teams or be ready to face action.
