Mobilink: Literacy programme wins award

Mobilink Foundation was among 158 nominees across 37 categories, selected from over 600 high-quality entries.

ISLAMABAD:
Mobilink Foundation’s ‘SMS Based Literacy’ programme has won GSMA’s Global Mobile Awards 2013.

Mobilink Foundation was among 158 nominees across 37 categories, selected from over 600 high-quality entries from across the global mobile ecosystem, says a press release.

The literacy programme won in the inaugural ‘Connected Life Awards’ category and was acknowledged as the ‘Best Mobile Education or Learning Product or Service’.

Mobilink says the programme is its flagship corporate responsibility project aimed at educating rural Pakistan.


Mobilink President and CEO Rashid Khan emphasised, “This award by the GSMA has highlighted Mobilink’s dedication to Pakistan over the course of nearly two decades and is a testament to our commitment to the country.

The award recognises Pakistan’s capacity to innovate in the pursuit of education as a means of improving lives across the country.”
