Regularised: Health workers given permanent jobs

The salaries of the regularised staff members, medical expenses, etc, will be borne by the federal government.

KARACHI: The chief minister, Qaim Ali Shah, has issued orders to regularise contractual employees of the health department.

According to a notification issued on Friday, the services of lady health supervisors, accounts supervisors, lady health workers, drivers and PMU staff of the National Programme in Family Planning and Primary Health Care (PHC) have been regularised with immediate effect from July 1, 2012.

The basic scale for the post of health and accounts supervisors is BPS-7, while health workers are appointed in grade BPS-5 and drivers in BPS-4.

The family planning programme and PHC workers will have no pension benefits, the notification added.

The salaries of the regularised staff members, medical expenses, etc, will be borne by the federal government from the date of the regularisation.
