Princely States: Allowance of ex-rulers to be increased
Allowance for ex-ruler will be enhanced to Rs200,000 per month and will be increased by 15% after every three years.
ISLAMABAD:
The National Assembly Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs on Friday approved a bill of The Rules of Acceding States (Abolition of Privy Purses and Privileges) Order 1972.
The bill was approved by a majority of committee members in the meeting which was held under the chairmanship of Senator Islamuddin Shaikh.
Meanwhile, the members of ANP Haji Muhammad Adeel and Ilyas Ahmed Bilour opposed the bill. The bill was moved to enhance the maintenance allowances of the ex-rulers of merged or acceding states and their dependents.
The allowance for each ex-ruler would be enhanced to Rs200,000 per month and after each three years, the maintenance allowance would be increased by 15 per cent.
