Punjab Action: Minister upset over security withdrawal

He warns, officers concerned will be responsible if he or his family members get hurt.

ISLAMABAD:
Minister for Education and Training Sheikh Waqas Akram said on Friday that Punjab police has withdrawn the security squad deployed to protect him and his family.

He warned that the officers concerned would be responsible if he or his family members get hurt.

Speaking on a point of order, he said that the Punjab police took the decision three days after the minister had spoken out against the Punjab government in the National Assembly.

He had accused the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s government of having contacts with the defunct outfits in the province.

The minister said the withdrawal of the security squad just few days prior to elections also raises questions.
