Extradition: Tauqir Sadiq brought back to Pakistan

Three-man team sent by NAB prosecutor bring former OGRA chief back to Pakistan, as per Supreme Court orders.

The prime suspect in the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) Tauqir Sadiq has been brought back to Pakistan from Dubai by the Interpol, Dawn.com reported.

He was brought back to Islamabad from Dubai on PIA flight 212.


The Supreme Court had taken suo moto notice of the case and ordered that he be arrested and returned to the country.

The prosecutor from the National Accountability Bureau had sent a three-man team to Dubai, including a CID officer of the Punjab police.

Sadiq was accused of embezzling a total of Rs83 billion during his tenure as Ogra chief. He had taken refuge in the United Arab Emirates after his senior appointment at the regulatory body was declared illegal by the apex court.
