On Public Demand: Altaf asks Ebad to take back resignation

Altaf Hussain asked Governor Ebad to reconsider his decision in the light of the requests made by business community.

Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has advised Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad to take back his resignation and resume his responsibilities for peace and stability in Sindh and for promoting harmony among various segments of the society. 


He said this while talking to Governor Ebad on telephone on Wednesday said a statement issued by the MQM.

Governor Ebad had sent his resignation to President Asif Zardari after political differences developed between the PPP and MQM and the MQM decided to sit on the opposition benches.

Governor Ebad had later on proceeded to Dubai because of his ailment. Altaf Hussain asked Governor Ebad to reconsider his decision in the light of the requests made by business community, industrialists, religious scholars, and people belonging to different other spheres of life.

He said Interior Minister Rehman Malik had conveyed to him the messages from President Zardari that Governor Ebad should be asked to continue in the largest interest of Sindh and Pakistan.
