Khyber Agency: Six killed, 18 injured in accidents

Both the accidents involved vehicle falling off from a mountain.

LANDI KOTAL: At least five people were killed and 14 others were injured when a passenger van en route to the Torkham Border slipped and fell into a deep ravine in the Michini area of Landikotal tehsil, Khyber Agency, on Wednesday.

Zeenat Khan, an official of the levies force, said that a van loaded with Afghan citizens was en route to Torkham border from Peshawar when the tyres of the vehicle slipped due to heavy downpour and fell into a ravine killing three passenger on the spot.

The official added that residents of the area and Khasadar force personnel rushed to the site and launched a rescue operation.

The injured were shifted to the Agency Headquarters Hospital in LandiKotal, where two of them succumbed to their injuries. Four children and two women are stated to be in critical condition.

Meanwhile, in another  road mishap in Landikotal, a vehicle slipped and fell off from a mountain killing the driver and injuring four others.
