Legacy: Father-son duos in the apex court
Justice Rehman is the son of Justice (retd) Hamoodur Rehman, who served as chief justice of Pakistan in 1968.

The appointment of Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman as judge of the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan marks the second father-son duo of apex court judges in the judicial history of the country.
Justice Rehman is the son of Justice (retd) Hamoodur Rehman, who served as chief justice of Pakistan in 1968.
In 2006, he was appointed additional judge of the Lahore High Court and a permanent judge of the Lahore High Court in 2007.
Justice Wajihuddin Ahmed also served as judge of the apex court and was the son of SC Justice Waheeduddin Ahmed.
