SHO Niaz Mirani, along with a police team, raided Channa Hotel, where his firing severely injured a Wapda employee, Manzoor Mirani, and a roadside vendor, Khadim Memon.
Later, a large number of people gathered outside the police station, shouted slogans against him and staged a demonstration at the Ghotki Bypass.
Taking notice of the incident, DPO Ghotki Saqib Ismail Memon ordered the police to take action against the SHO. The police registered a case against Mirani on the complaint of Mauj Ali Mirani, the father of the injured Manzoor Mirani, and locked him up.
Police sources said that the SHO had received information that there were criminals present at the hotel, prompting him to conduct the raid. However, he has not yet explained why he opened fire on the two men.
