BAHAWALPUR:

Hitting out at the ruling party in Punjab, Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has done nothing for the development of southern Punjab, whereas the PML-Q had completed many uplift projects.

Addressing a public gathering at Yazman Mandi, some 34 kilometres from Bahawalpur on Monday, Elahi said all projects of the Punjab government, including Sasti Roti Scheme, Yellow Cab, Ashiana Housing Scheme and Metro Bus Service, have failed badly as billions of rupees have been wasted on the projects.

Elahi dubbed the PML-N an ‘anti-peasants’ party and said the Punjab government has no interest in solving people’s problems, rather it was busy in corruption.  There are no proper medical facilities available in hospitals of Punjab, he claimed.

“Thousands of acres of land was allotted in Cholistan to local residents during the PML-Q government,” he said, adding that they had spread a network of roads in Punjab and development projects worth Rs2 billion were completed in Bahawalpur city.
