SEOUL:
Pakistan boys beat arch-rivals India 2-0 in the 16th Asian Junior Squash Championship taking place in Seoul, Express News reported on Sunday.
It turns out 2-0 is turning out to be a lucky number as earlier Pakistan boys team defeated Malaysia 2-0 in the semi-final of the event being played in Korea yesterday. Ali Bokhari and Tayyab Aslam made sure that Pakistan enjoyed an easy outing by winning their respective matches.
India beat Hong Kong 2-1 in the second semi-final to meet Pakistan in the finals.
Earlier, Pakistan had defeated hosts Korea 2-1 in the last-eight clash thanks to victories from Ali Bokhari and Bilal Zakir, while Ammad Fareed had lost his match.
The girls team participating for the first time in the event gave a decent performance, winning one out of the three matches against Sri Lanka. However, they were defeated by Hong Kong and Malaysia.
