ISLAMABAD:
Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry observed on Friday that if the Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) recovered the loss incurred in the case of missing International Security Assistance Force (Isaf) containers, the next financial budget would not be in deficit.
A loss of Rs45 billion occurred after over 7,000 containers, transporting goods for Isaf, went missing and could not be brought in the tax net by the FBR.
The court directed the FBR to submit a report on why the recoveries had not been made so far.
