ISLAMABAD:

The Jubilee Park in Sector F-7 is one of the better public parks in the federal capital. It does not have broken benches, there is a paved track in the park and trash is not strewn on the park’s boundary.

Ironically, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has chosen it to launch a new programme to upgrade and develop public parks and recreational facilities. CDA spokesperson Ramzan Sajid said the civic agency was going to focus on the maintenance of existing parks and development of new parks under the programme.

Meanwhile, CDA Chairman Tahir Shahbaz directed the environment wing to step up awareness activities. He visited Jubilee Park and Muslim Colony on Wednesday along with other officers including Member Administration Munir Ahmad Chaudhry and Member Environment Kazim Niaz.

Shahbaz said material on environmental conservation should be distributed in Muslim Colony.
