In the line of duty : Constable dies trying to prevent robbery
The deceased hailed from Gujranwala and has three children.
KARACHI:
A 50-year-old constable, Muhammad Yousuf, who was guarding the main gate of a branch of Tameer Bank, SITE, was shot dead while trying to prevent the bank from being robbed on Wednesday.
According to the police, three armed men in shalwar kameez tried to rob the bank.
When Yousuf tried to stop them, one of the robbers opened fire and shot him. Yousuf succumbed to his injuries at Civil hospital.
The culprits, who failed to get inside the bank, escaped before the police arrived.
The deceased constable had been posted in SITE since February due to the increase in bank robberies being reported there.

The police have yet to register the case.
