Contempt of court: Stop deducting teachers’ salaries

The Lahore High Court on Tuesday issued a notice to the school education secretary on contempt of court charges over deduction of government teachers’ salaries. As many as 200 teachers moved the petition. They said they had been appointed on a contract basis. The petitioners submitted that the court had earlier ordered the secretary to stop deductions from their salaries but he had not complied with the orders. They requested the court to initiate contempt proceedings against the secretary and other officials.
